U kunt op de gehele regeling en memorie van toelichting reageren.I don't support the proposal. While every country is entitled to safeguard it's borders, a blanket approach to a very nuanced immigration issue is not the way to go. Surely policy makers have the sophistication to create a scoring system that takes considerably into account what real attempt at integration and positive intentions look like for those applying for citizenship.
As a highly skilled migrant (with good intentions to stay and contribute) - a change like this would be grossly unfair given that the policies in place at the time were a huge factor in my decision to bring my talent here & to contribute to the society in this way with clear and fair reciprocity. With a long term plan to integrate, I enrolled my 3 young kids into the Dutch education system and we are currently in the process of putting roots down in the form of a home purchase and registered for Dutch lessons, all in less than 2 years of arriving here. All this with the understanding that when the 30% ruling ends (5 year period) we will in exchange be able to apply for citizenship via naturalization by meeting the requirements already known to us at arrival. Losing the tax ruling, and getting no assurances/rights as a citizen thereafter, leaves so many of us with a lot of uncertainty and questioning whether moving and investing here to this degree was the right choice for our families.
I think if the government feels this is the way to go for its people and its nation, then at the very least, it should apply to individuals who have not entered the kingdom of the Netherlands as yet as they would be well aware of what they are signing up for and make choices that align with that. But for people who are well on the path to naturalization and have invested heavily to that end - this would be grossly unfair and personal costs that would be even difficult to recover in this lifetime.
Relook at this proposal with intention to create the right cause/effect - but slapping on another 5 yrs lacks the depth and complexity required to address the real issue the government is trying to curtail.
