I would like to express my concerns about this bill.

Firstly, I think it is unfair to immigrants who have resided in the Netherlands for years and are currently waiting to complete the required five years. For them, the agreement is gradually changing, while they built their lives in the Netherlands expecting to be able to naturalize after five years.

Furthermore, I do not believe that extending the period from five to ten years will contribute to better integration. The most important aspect of integration is learning the language. It would be much more effective to encourage and support people to learn the language more quickly, as this actually helps them connect with society.

Finally, I am concerned that extending the period to ten years will actually negatively impact immigrants' motivation to integrate. When the path to naturalization becomes so long, it can be discouraging for many and create distance instead of connection.

I therefore request that the five-year period be retained and that language acquisition and active participation be focused on as means of promoting integration.
