As a committed resident who has embraced Dutch values and passed the inburgering exam, I respectfully "object" to extending the naturalisation period to 10 years. A longer wait risks discouraging integration rather than strengthening it. The current 5-year path motivates newcomers to invest in language, culture, and community. Let’s continue building a future where motivated residents feel welcome and empowered to contribute fully to the Netherlands — socially, economically, and democratically.
