Unlike other European countries such as Italy and the United Kingdom the Dutch have abandoned their citizens and descendants with their notorious 10-year clock rule by confiscating their right to their ancestry and Dutch nationality.

This new bill is discriminatory in that it wants to be proportionate to former Dutch with ties to the EU, but discriminates against those that do not have ties to the EU. It is discriminatory to take proportionate action for those within an EU context and not to extend that proportionality in the national context!

As an individual who's grandparents were Dutch and whose mother unfairly, unwillingly and unexpectedly lost her Dutch nationality thus being able to pass it onto me, it is unfair that I should not be allowed to regain nationality ties to my Dutch ancestry.
