This bill creates an equal and opposite reaction to Dutch students who will be opting to study outside Europe. Imagine a Dutch student forced to sit and learn in Chinese!! The diversity and inclusion of international students, who, mind you, pay a hefty fee that supports the institution, will be impacted. This seems to be a one-sided and drastic solution to a problem that should be solved without bordering on segregation and exclusion. Such bills do not promote the Dutch economy but rather provoke a sense of Xenophobia. In much of the industries in Europe, the very specialist skills and the convenience shop around the corner or the housekeeper is most likely a foreigner. Too bad if Dutch students are now exploring Harvard or Oxford and do not know the language.

Vraag2

Hoe beoordeelt u de uitvoerbaarheid voor de onderwijspraktijk en heeft u nog suggesties om de uitvoerbaarheid te bevorderen?
In many multilingual countries, different local languages are offered at school and to foreigners are part of their induction. In the Netherlands, as far as I have seen, most foreigners are keen to learn the language and to integrate into the culture. Forcing such bills into the educational system will demotivate foreigners to consider great institutions impacting several economical levels. The rise of more international schools and preference to rather study outside of the Netherlands while living here might increase.
