As a highly skilled migrant living in the Netherlands, I strongly oppose the proposal to extend the naturalization term from 5 to 10 years.
Such a change creates disappointment and uncertainty about my future, making it harder to plan my life, career, and family here. It discourages integration instead of supporting it, and undermines trust in the Dutch system, as many migrants have built their lives based on the current 5-year rule.
Extending the term does not promote inclusion — it only delays the sense of belonging and equality that citizenship provides.
I respectfully urge you to maintain the 5-year term to support integration, fairness, and social stability.
