As a highly-skilled migrant living just about 2 years in the Netherlands I completely disagree with extension to 10 years. In 2 years in NL, I have already completed all the inburgering exams and requirements and I am very passionate about proceeding even further. Even though I had opportunities to live in the UK or Germany I gave my preference to living in the Netherlands due to the existing regulations in the country not according to the future laws.
Even if changing the requirements is not unavoidable the new deadline should apply only to individuals who decide to migrate to the Netherlands after the law comes into effect. Overall, I don't think this serves for the needs of the entire country either as highly-skilled migrants would leave for better opportunities outside.
