Majority of the EU countries don’t have such a long time residency requirement to get Naturalized. Highly skilled immigrants are one of the major personal tax payers and their contribution to the growth of the local government and economy should be recognized. Current 5 years of residency is a pretty decent tenure to be eligible to get Naturalized and making it 10 years might reduce the inflow of the immigrants and in turn will reduce the growth of the country’s economy. Hope the government and the king will consider this file various aspects (pros and cons) and make a decision.
