There’s no evidence that shows that longer residency equates to better integration outcomes. 5 years is long enough, increasing this will result in a labour shortage in most critical industries. And what do you know, the Netherlands would ultimately lose out to global talent to our neighbours. At the time that countries such as the US are carving inwards on highly skilled workers, the Netherlands should take advantage of this opportunity!
