I believe this change is too long and will make it harder for people who already live, work, and contribute to Dutch society to become part of it fully. Five years is already a reasonable time to show commitment and integration. Making it 10 years could discourage people from participating and make them feel less connected to the Netherlands.

It is also important to think about people who are already close to applying. Changing the rules suddenly would feel unfair and create uncertainty. There should be clear transition rules so they are not negatively affected.

I understand the wish to improve the system, but I think it is better to keep the current 5-year period or look for fairer alternatives, such as exceptions for well-integrated people, workers, or families.
