One of the great incentives for highly skilled migrants to come to the Netherlands was always the promise of Dutch citizenship after 5 years. So instead of supporting this great measure, the Government is proposing the opposite. Hasn't the goal of the Netherlands always been the society of highly educated and motivated people? Is that changed with this Government? Not to mention the impact of this measure for people who are already in the process for 2-3-4 years. This kind of unpredictability is undermining the rule of law which has always been the corner stone of this great country. I hope this bill never passes as it is not in the best interest of the Netherlands.
