I would like to voice my objection against this ruling.
A lot of immigrants who have come here like myself had to change the entire lives over the years. To a lot of us, The Netherlands feels more like home than our own home countries. The migrants who have already navigated the challenges of immigration, studied in Dutch universities, are working in Dutch companies, have re-built their social circles consisting of people of all nationalities, ethnicities, races and sexualities, have already done their best not only to integrate themselves in the Dutch society but to contribute to it in a positive way. A Dutch passport is truly the last step to finally be able to call this place "home".
Extending the citizenship to 10 years would be extremely unfair to the migrants who are already fully integrated and are being useful members of the Dutch society.
