The current 5 year period of naturalisation provides a good base for making sure a person is integrated into the culture of Netherlands.
The proposal to extend this period to 10 years doesn’t make sure or guarantees that they are very well integrated into the culture. Besides, it will repel the Highly skilled migrates to consider even moving to the nation, even though it excels at all other aspects as one of the great places to live.

I am opposed to this decision of extending the duration any further than 5 years. It does attract the talent to this country as well as retain it. And those who are willing to stay in the country by attaining the citizenship would do anything to become a part of the Dutch society within these 5 years itself.
