This move will definitely deter away talented professionals away from the Netherlands. If talented professionals such as those in the semiconductor industry move away, key companies like ASML, NXP, etc might choose to move out of the Netherlands. This would significantly impact the Dutch economy.

I would like to suggest that an exception should be made to the highly skilled resident permit holders and a fast track approach to their citizenship is pertinent for long term economic benefits.
