But I don't think extending naturalization period will contribute to integration. Below items are more important.

1) Dutch language. As a HSM visa holder, there is no restriction for me to learn Dutch. Because majority of society speaks English, I am reluctant to improve my Dutch. Government should push for more strict requirements for everyone. If we want to be a citizen of Netherlands, language is a must.
2) Being welcomed by society. This is a big challenge because it is a cultural characteristic. But society should be encouraged in a way to welcome newcomers.
3) Newcomers should also take a step forward Dutch society. We must make efforts.
4) As a secular country, government should embrace all kind of cultures and differences. The constitution (article 6) is clear: ‘’Everyone shall have the right to profess freely his religion or belief, either individually or in community with others, without prejudice to his responsibility under the law.’’ Politicians should be careful with their speech not to cause any hatred towards any race, country or religion.
5) Finding solutions (long term) for housing problems. Otherwise, society will put blame on newcomers always.
6) Asylum seekers should be sent to first country they enter. So that they will not find courage to travel wherever they want in Europe.
7) Government (IND) should be more careful with documentation of newcomers. IND should accept genuine applications only. The backgrounds (including size of their family) of people should be checked more carefully.

In short, skilled people do not migrate only for a job, they move for a life. It is responsibility of society and government to make people feel like Netherlands is their home country, this should the first step, welcoming. Changing naturalization will not improve integration, it will come with more disadvantages than advantages.
