Hello,
I am a migrant who emigrated here as a way to escape the bigotry and city of violence against immigrants in the United States. The Netherlands currently has a wonderful international reputation and lives in the hopes and hearts of many people across the world, who consider it an option to pursue their lives, raise families, build business, and educate themselves and others. To extend the naturalization process will be to liken the Netherlands to those countries who are bigoted and uwelcoming, close-minded and short-sighted.

My understanding is much of the economy here relies on international exchange: doctors, students, educators, employers are all a mix of "natural," Dutch citizens and those who have emigrated here. It would be foolish in both image and economic strategy to drive away those who have worked so hard to become one of your citizens. You would be driving away the people who have acrively chosen the Netherlands as their home country above all others. I cannot imagine a population more dedicated to a country's future than that.

Thank you.
