I strongly oppose this change.
When making a such a big life changing decision, we consider all elements, including the length of time needed before risks such as reliance on a working visa to stay in the country is required. A change like this would double the risk, after having already made the decision and not being able to "turn back now".
Will grandfather rights apply for migrants already in the Netherlands?
We have made a lot of effort to form a life here and plan to integrate fully and obtain citizenship and this makes the long term plan so much more difficult and challenging.
Please consider the impacts on people already in the country.
