I would like to express my concern with this bill for extending naturalization period from 5 years to 10 years. I am an expat who moved here on highly skilled migrant visa and one of the major deciding factors was being able to become citizen after 5 years. This will be even harder for the dependent who has to live here for 10 years without their own status.

If we do proceed with bill, then I suggest we date it at least 5 years from now so that expats who already live here with the hopes of integrating with Dutch society and become a citizen in that time frame do not get crushed.
