This is a dangerous violation of freedom of expression and violates Article 7 of the Constitution and numerous international treaties to which the Netherlands has signed. It creates the potential for a dangerous slippery slope that could curtail civil rights.
We have established that the argument that a person or group "incites hatred" or "glorifies terrorism" is wrongly used to justify individuals and groups who seek nothing less than justice for an oppressed people. Acknowledging that that state is complicit in genocide and demonstrating against it is a fundamental right. Additionally, the Dutch government is not impartial in the Israeli-Palestinian "conflict" (https://www.somo.nl/economic-sanctions-eu-is-israel-largest-investor/), being the largest investor in Israel in the EU and the world. This bill provides tools to suppress protests and silence opponents, and that should NEVER happen in a democracy.
