Ik ben tegen dit wetsvoorstel. Hoewel ik terrorisme en het aanzetten tot geweld (artikel 132 van het Nederlandse Wetboek van Strafrecht) veroordeel, vind ik dit nieuwe wetsvoorstel te vaag en laat het ruimte voor politiek gemotiveerde interpretaties van wat steun aan terrorisme inhoudt. Ik zie het als een omweg om het tonen van publieke steun voor de Palestijnse beweging, het recht op zelfbeschikking van de Palestijnen en hun recht om zich te verzetten tegen genocide, apartheid en onderdrukking, strafbaar te stellen.
Ik zie dit wetsvoorstel ook als een systematische poging om het recht op vrije meningsuiting, journalistiek en protest in te perken.
Op een iets persoonlijkere noot: ik heb een tatoeage van de kuffiyeh-symbolen op mijn rechterarm. Steun ik publiekelijk terrorisme door deze symbolen te dragen? Moet ik mijn arm afhakken als dit wetsvoorstel wordt aangenomen?

I am against this bill. While I condemn terrorism and the incitement to violence [Article 132 of the Dutch Criminal Code], I believe this new bill is too vague and allows for politically motivated interpretation of what constitutes support for terrorism. I see it as a roundabout way to criminalize showcasing public support for the Palestine movement, the right of self-determination for the Palestinians and their right to resist genocide, apartheid and oppression.
I also see this bill as a systematic effort to curtail the right to free speech, journalism and protest.
On a slightly personal note, I have a tattoo of the kuffiyeh symbols on my right arm. Am I publicly supporting terrorism by wearing these symbols ? Will I need to cut my arm if this bill passes ?
