This is not the way to go. Don’t punish the whole population for a problem that a small part is causing.
I use a pocket knife daily for small random tasks like opening a letter, box, slicing fruit etc. I always carry a pocket knife.
With the new law you’re making it illegal for me to carry one for these every day tasks.
Either make the law more specific and less vague or remove it entirely. If you want to fight illegal use of knives then you should focus on the cause for these rather than the symptoms.
Knives are tools, not weapons. Just like a hammer is a tool they can however be abused. But the people are the problem, not the tool.
