Graag vernemen wij uw reactie op het conceptwetsvoorstel tot wijziging van de Opiumwet.It is a pity to see such a progressive country take this conservative direction. The measures proposed will not stop drug use, but will simply make current drugs illegal. Instead of dealing with the problems that current drug use has on public health, this law will be the trigger to the arrival of new chemicals that try to circumvent the new laws, exposing the whole society to unknown risks and dangers. From a historical and social standpoint, it is clear that prohibition is not the right solution - harm reduction has been proven to be much more beneficial to Governments, individuals, and society in general.
